The advisors
Hafiz is the Founder and Advisor for TMC. He counts himself as a lucky individual and owes his achievements to the school and the many who have guided him along the way. The idea of TMC was thus driven strongly by the will to pass on the good karma. Hafiz is deeply passionate about social mobility and, throughout his SMU years, has championed other similar causes. Apart from TMC, Hafiz has co-published a book on LGBT inclusion supported by corporates like Accenture, presented inclusion-related topics in conferences in Singapore and Australia and interned in areas of sustainability and financial inclusion. Hafiz now bides his time in his career as a management consultant in Oliver Wyman.

Masahiro is currently an investment analyst at the Enterprise Development Group of Temasek Holdings. He graduated from the Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2017 with a degree in Accountancy and Finance. His internship experience includes stints at corporate advisory and investment banking firms, having a keen interest in corporate finance and strategy. Masahiro is one of three co-founders of The Mentoring Circle (TMC). It all began with the simple idea of building a supportive and encouraging community within SMU, with senior students mentoring junior students in all areas of their student lives. Career development is one area of focus and the TMC provides senior students with a platform to give back after reaping the benefits from SMU. He hopes to see virtuous cycles of kindness among the student community.

Sarah is a mentor at TMC and she believes in paying it forward and “age quod agis”, which is Latin for do best in whatever you do. Previously having benefitted from SMU’s Alumni Mentoring Programme, she saw how little acts of kindness can go a long way and thus, joined TMC in the hope of giving back. She believes in the vision of TMC as it supports social inclusion and giving others a platform to gain perspectives. Apart from mentoring, Sarah spends her free time reading, running and catching up with friends. Sarah currently works as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley.
