Recently, our President Richie Loh and Honorary General Secretary Olivia Soh conducted a sharing session with first-time mentors from the ASoc Mentoring Scheme, an initiative by SMU ASoc (Accounting Society).
As part of the ongoing collaboration, The Mentoring Circle plays an advisory role in the curation of content and structure for ASoc’s very own mentoring programme.
Notwithstanding the frameworks in place for the programme to take flight, the main takeaway was that mentorship is akin to an open exploratory relationship. Beyond the established guidelines, it is ultimately still up to the mentor-mentee pair to discover what works best for them.
Thank you ASoc for hosting the session and we hoped the budding mentors have gained new perspectives as they embark on their mentoring journey. We look forward to our continued partnership with ASoc in the upcoming academic year!
