Today’s pursuit for talent is as competitive as ever, led by a growing skills shortage, advanced technologies, demographic shifts and evolving dynamics around the nature of work. In addition, according to Deloitte’s 2018 Global Human Capital Trends Report, social capital has become just as important as human, financial and physical capital.  Ultimately, organisations recognize the need for talent, the need to empower and improve their talent, yet are still challenged to do just that.

The Mentoring Circle invited two SMU Alumni,  Claire Teo, Harresh Krishnan and current student Chen Hao to talk about the challenges in recruiting and being recruited in our highly competitive landscape.

This episode will bring about an insightful discussion regarding the impact of technological advancement on university students’ career aspirations, particularly those who are coming from non-tech backgrounds.

Harresh (Graduating Class of 2017) is an Executive Search Consultant at A.S.K. Solutions – a firm which specializes in launching start up and hyper-growth tech companies in the APJRegion. He also currently leads the SMU Alumni Rugby Club outside of work
