The Mentoring Circle kicked off the fresh semester with a bang at our Information Session last week!

We’d heard from many students in our community that mentorship remained an elusive, missing piece in their university life. Juniors said it was intimidating and difficult to find a mentor. Their seniors said they weren’t sure if their advice truly mattered.

But one thing is for sure. Everyone said they believed in mentorship’s transformative power.

So, we set out to fix it.

The information session brought together over 100 undergraduates who were eager to find out more about TMC’s nurturing culture and how they could be part of the mentoring movement. We remain even more motivated by the strong enthusiasm shown by everyone to be part of our inclusive and nurturing community at TMC!

The night concluded with a lively panel discussion facilitated by Beverly Khoo, with panelists Stephanie Pang of TalentTribe Asia and ex TMC members, William Werry of Shell, Sandy Wong of EDB, and Nevin Tan. The panel shared personal anecdotes, their mentorship experiences and shared wise (and hilarious) words of advice with students.

Really excited at how far we have come with only about a year from ideation and all of us remain very hopeful for the next 2 semesters ahead. Sign ups have officially closed and we look forward to welcoming the fresh batch of mentor and mentees into the second circle within the next week, so do look out for our upcoming events!

Here is also a little video production to showcase the entire event! 🙂
